The 17th Texas Silver-Haired Legislature (TSHL) held its biennial legislative session from April 23-26 at the State Capitol. Mike Sandoval, Precinct 3 Llano County Commissioner, was one of the 65 TSHL legislators who attended the session in Austin. He said the group works from morning into late night during its time in Austin. The TSHL holds these sessions in the years that the Texas Legislature is in recess.
Llano Community Theatre, now in its third season, kicked off its latest performance last weekend with three shows. Without going too much into the show, it runs again this Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. The musical comedy lived up to its billing, and was a huge hit to all three audiences, with standing ovations each day. The future doesn’t begin for Llano High athletes in high school. It starts, for some, in elementary school and adds adrenaline in junior high. Bonnie Vaughan Woodell, age 87, of Llano, and formerly of Kerrville, passed peacefully on Tuesday, April 24, 2018. She was born in Nevada, Texas on June 1, 1930. Erica Nicole Beasley, 34, of Llano, died on April 29, 2018. Erica was born on March 22, 1984, to Jon and Ann Beasley in Llano. Erica attended Llano ISD as a child and attended Marble Falls High School for a period. Erica loved her family and her son beyond all else.
