One local doctor expects the county’s COVID-19 cases to climb, following a statewide trend.
“Statewide numbers are rising at a phenomenal rate,” said Llano County Health Authority Dr. Jack Franklin with Hill Country Direct Care. “I certainly expect Llano’s case count also to continue rising.”
As of June 26, Llano County has had 22 people test positive for COVID-19, including 15 active cases.
After a past sand mining project near the Llano River was scrapped, one local company has started the process again in a different place on the river.
Collier Materials, Inc., which has locations in Marble Falls and Llano, has entered into agreements with landowners to establish a new sand mining operation, according to one local official who spoke with the vice president of the company, Kevin Collier.
