Water, a constant concern in the ever-growing population of central Texas, was the big topic Friday in Llano. Leaders of towns around the area, from Mason, Llano, Bandera, Kerrville and others, participated in a program put together by Hill Country Alliance. It was sponsored locally by the City of Llano, Llano Main Street, the Llano American Legion, Llano Chamber of Commerce and Joe’s Bar and Grill.

Llano ISD could see more green, thanks to the sun. A proposed solar farm on the Llano ISD school land in Tom Green County could net the school district extra funds, said Michael Dennison, a solar development manager for E.ON. Dennison represented the firm, which has 39,000 employees world-wide and is headquartered in Germany, at Monday’s commissioners court meeting.
Balloons were released at the Llano County Courthouse last Wednesday for Go Blue Day, a part of Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Rick Cundieff, the pastor of First Baptist Church Llano for nearly 28 years, preached his last sermon at the church Sunday morning. Cundieff, who came to Llano in August 1989, announced his retirement to the congregation two weeks ago.
