Updating the Tribute
After careful proof reading and stencil preparation, Teddy and Joe Moellendorf of Southwest Granite in Fredericksburg etched new names onto the Veterans Memorial.
In early June, 13 names were etched onto the 4th Veteran’s Memorial located on the courthouse lawn. This has been an ongoing project of the Mason County Historical Commission for several years. So far, there are well over 400 names on those memorials which honor Mason citizens that have served in our military. The first memorial list veterans serving from the Texas War of Independence, Civil War, Mexican American War and the Spanish American War.
