Assault weapons Dear Editor, Experts agree; putting more guns on school property in the hands of civilians is not going to make students safer. It definitely would not make the teachers carrying weapons safer. When law enforcement arrives to ‘contain the threat’ how are they supposed to know the difference between a pistol-packing teacher and an armed and dangerous person?
