70 rockets to go skyward this weekend near Fredericksburg
This weekend the public is invited to watch high school students launch their rockets a mile high and beyond the speed of sound, as Rockets 2018 returns to Willow City.
For Texas high school students in the SystemsGo STEM education program, this weekend is the the final exam as they try to launch rockets they designed and built for Rockets 2018, on Thursday, April 26 through Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Willow City, near Fredericksburg. The vehicles will either boost a one-pound payload one mile high, or attempt to reach 13,000 feet and break the sound barrier.
