Bat Cave Report
"This is the wagon we talked about last night. It’s from the Wisseman Family out of Hilda. The family would make the trip to the Bat cave for the Bat guano. I had heard the story of this difficult trip many times from older family members. I rebuilt the wagon I pulled up from almost dust.” (email from Edwin Johnson)
Ketchup is made of tomatoes. French fries are made from potatoes. Butterflies are made from caterpillars. Frogs are made from tadpoles, and MEMORIES are made from....well, lots of things!! Someone pushed the memory rewind button at the Eckert James River Bat Cave Preserve last week. Stories beget pictures and pictures became the basis of this column.
