January 9 was declared Law Enforcement Appreciation Day and the VFW of Mason honored the group with a lunch at Nacho’s Café at which, we had 17 to attend. A plaque was drawn up and presented to our Sheriff, Buster Nixon, on behalf of all the agencies to show our appreciation. Joining us in the funding was Martin and Phyllis Leatherwood, of Leatherwood Chapels and it was our distinct pleasure to show our pride and acknowledge of the efforts of our Law Enforcement.
