Gerry, The landfill/transfer station controversy is not just about finding the cheapest possible solution for solid waste disposal. It is analagous to someone choosing to rent or purchase a home. Why should we "rent" space in someone else's landfill when we own ours? When someone chooses to purchase a home they don't only consider the pricetag.
