I would like to correct some points in Will McCann’s letter to the News last week. Mr. McCann wrote that there is a new precedent/policy of “holding the actual amount of taxes flat each year.” This is incorrect. No one suggested this as a policy. "So, the city did not raise taxes, but the valuations increased due to a good economy.” This is incorrect.
