At 5:29pm on Mother’s Day Kathryn Sanders Matthews received the most precious gift of all. She was able to once again dance with the love of her life, who left this earth almost seven years prior. Born at the home of her Aunt Vadis in Fredonia on October 26th, 1928, Kathryn grew up on the land here in Mason County, attended the Fredonia School, and then graduated from Mason High School at 16 years of age.
