Roy Lee Pfeil, of Mason, was called home by God on Thursday, August 5, at the age of 56. Roy was born in Fredericksburg on January 26, 1965 to Leroy Harry Pfeil and Maurine Elizabeth Edwards Pfeil. He attended school in Fredericksburg and lived there until 1997, when he became a full-time resident of Mason. In 2007 he married Barbara Eckert.
Roy worked as a carpenter for Warren and Koy Grote for many years. He was known for his friendliness, his willingness to help anybody, and his hard work. He was also known to be a good listener. Roy was a man of strong Christian faith and a member of Bible Baptist Church. He was and is a beautiful soul. He is loved and will be missed by many people.
When he wasn’t working or helping others, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting and shooting his guns, going to the river and fishing, reading and listening to Hank Williams Jr. He was known to be a collector of “junk,” but he could usually find a use for things other people did not want anymore.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Barbara Pfeil of Mason, sons Royce and Reece Pfeil of Mason, daughters Machelle Veach and husband Greg of Walsenberg, Colorado, Lori Masters and husband Ricky of San Antonio, stepson Travis Eckert of San Antonio, stepdaughter Jaclyne Grosse of Cisco, brother Johnny Clifton, grandchildren Madison Gomez, Eli Veach, Kyler Eckert, Bentley Masters, Greyson Masters, Kingston Masters and Copen James Veach (on the way and will be here soon) and a step-granddaughter Henzley Callahan. He was preceded in death by his parents Leroy and Maurine Pfeil, a daughter, Amanda Lee Pfeil, granddaughter Destiny Franklin and a brother Jimmy Clifton
