4-H Photography Class teachers Kathy and Don Day are justifiably proud of students Kaymie Alba, Kristian Alba, Kayson Couvillon, Millie Marquart, Casey Montague, and Cypress Van Delist. Their solar graphs, created using pinhole cameras set out from November through mid-April, trace the annual path of the sun across the sky, and they’re amazing.

It has been a very pleasant spring so far this year and the alternating rains and sunshine are bringing out the absolute beauty of God’s creation around us. I hope that you have a chance to spend many hours outside in this wonderful weather. One thing that we at the City are trying to get ahead of to help everyone enjoy the outdoors here in town is to start spraying for mosquitos.

Coreluv International was founded in 2011 to meet the five basic needs that every child has: clean water, proper food, healthcare, education and a loving home in a Christ centered environment.
I hope all mothers had a great Mother’s Day. Mine was wonderful. After a doctor visit last week, John took me to my favorite Italian restaurant that he strongly dislikes. He suffered through lunch while I feasted on Eggplant Parmesan. Saturday, daughter-in-law Crystal cooked a wonderful dinner. Scott and Megan helped me celebrate.

In my effort to get as many folks as possible to do some baking, I’ve been researching lots of recipes to see if there is a really quick and easy way for busy cooks to put some home-made goodies on the table. The Jiffy Mix company has been around a long time, and they make a lot more mixes than just Corn Bread Muffin Mix!
This month is special for the Library Book Club--we’re having two meetings instead of one! We just finished a lively discussion of Where the Crawdad Sing by Delia Owens, and Nan Larrimore brought delicious dip and crackers. But we’re not done yet--we’ll meet again on our regular day, the last Tuesday of each month--to discuss The Which Way Tree by Elizabeth Crook.

Back when I was a kid, Lee Majors starred in a television show called ‘The Six Million Dollar Man.’ Majors played the role of Colonel Steve Austin, a test pilot who was pretty much totaled in a plane crash, and then rebuilt using mostly after market parts made of titanium and nuclear waste, or something.
Majoring in Majors…
A minister friend--aware of ever-growing complications and mounting tonnage at the trough of trivia--often used the expression from the pulpit, in staff meetings and in conversation.
He felt strongly about “keeping the main thing the main thing.” It was a serious challenge made so often that friends often referred to him as the “main thing minister.”
It’s pretty clear--no matter where our focus centers--that his admonition has been largely ignored.
