Rodeo was found wandering on the highway and luckily a couple of individuals stopped and picked him up. His owners have not been found, and he is now under Second Chance’s care. Rodeo is a fun dog who loves to play ball, both catching and bringing the ball back! It seems he could do this all day long!
For the Week of August 14 Old Yeller Day will soon be here! Join us on Saturday, September 30 from 9:00-2:00 for dogs, food, fun, and more! Pastel Pencil Workshop for Adults The San Angelo Art Club have been organized since 1928. They sponsor several art shows throughout the year. Their home is in the Kendall Art Gallery, 119 W. 1 st Street. Beginning with a watercolor workshop held in July, the club will be sponsoring several workshops in the future.
Buddy lives on a ranch with his best friend JR and another companion, Primo, a black lab. I work on the ranch for JR, Buddy and Primo. Buddy likes to hitch a ride in the mule whenever someone tools around the ranch doing work. He absolutely loves to be around and with people.
Dwain (Butch) Leifeste passed away at the age of 84 on August 9, 2023. He was born to Henry and Mamie Leifeste on February 16, 1939. He is survived by his wife Martha Estes Leifeste, son John Henry Leifeste, daughter-in-law Katrina Leifeste, grandsons Matt and Jace and a sister Darlene Leifeste McDougall.
This year marked a milestone moment in our life, our last Meet the Teacher night as parents. It was the first of many lasts as our kids are moving closer and closer to graduation. Today will mark the last time we will have kids below the high school level, and next year we will be starting our oldest daughter’s Senior Year.

Organic satire Kendal Hemphill Most people probably don’t realize how difficult it is to write satire these days. It used to be easy, back when people were mentally stable, for the most part, and could tell when you said something that was obviously meant as a joke. When I started writing this column, 26 years ago, I could say I’d met bigfoot while having coffee with Elvis, and no one would take me seriously.
When will this summer heat end? I am working on the highest water bill around this year. That is not for a green lawn, but just to keep it crispy and not brown. The weatherman said we could have over 100 degree days through the third week of September. Pray for rain. This was a hard week for our family.

The Christian Friedrich Loeffler Family Reunion was held in Hilda,Texas at the Hilda UMC fellowship hall on Saturday, July 29 th . Christian’s parents, Johann Martin and Johanna (Zizelmann) Loeffler arrived in Texas in mid-1854 and he was born on December 9, 1854 in Fredericksburg.       Christian, when a young man, moved to Mason County and married Maria Geistweidt on May 17, 1878 at her parents’ home in the Hilda community.
