Volunteers, visitors, bats, snakes and critters....all these help make up a truly remarkable experience at The Eckert James River Bat Cave Preserve. The Preserve is really looking great (thank you volunteers!) and the bats are in wonderful form. The visitors are really enjoying their visits Thursday through Sunday night. I open the gate at 6:45 P.M.
Summer begins today. However, this is Texas and we have had summer for months. This past week has been brutal. Maybe summer will bring spring weather. Class Meetings at the Art United Methodist Church have been changed from Tuesday to Wednesday evenings. Soup is served at 6 and the meeting is from 6:30 to 7:30. Choir practice scheduled for June 28th has been cancelled. Thank you to John Villegas-Grubbs, brother of Claudia Fahrenthold, who preached Sunday morning.
Dead Sea Strolls You can’t sling a cat in Israel without hitting a historic site, where something happened during Bible times. There are over 6,000 sites identified as historic, so far. From June 9th-12th, five Mason students took a trip along with a group from Brady to Washington, D.C. They visited such places as Mount Vernon, the Capitol building, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam wall, Holocaust Museum and several Smithsonian Museums to name a few. The students that were able to go were Tiffany Snow, Kyra Wilson, Will Ince, Derek Ontiveroz, and Grady Wallace. I would like to thank Aaron Faith and Dave Ince that came along for the trip as well but helped me out along the way.

The clientele for ‘Camp MeMaw’ has dwindled down to only one. Oh, the alumni come by for a visit, but are no longer involved with the camp. So, it was just my Jitter Bug, Casen! But, we had fun. The rabbit population is down in Grossville. Now, I have the grand dogs as clientele.
