   The District 7 Livestock Judging Contest took place on Wednesday, November 30 in San Angelo, TX. Aspen Martin of Mason County won First High Individual Overall. She and John Benefield competed in the Senior Division as individuals. There were 43 individual competitors in all. Aspen took home Third High Individual in cattle, First High Individual in sheep and goats and First High Individual in the Reason’s competition to win the top high-individual overall spot and qualify for the ...
On Thursday, Dec. 8th, approximately 35 veterans and their families and friends gathered at the American Legion Post Hall to enjoy good food, great fellowship and bingo. This year’s party, sponsored by the VFW Post 8554, also included the drawing of the winning ticket for the American Legion Fort Mason Post 285’s rifle raffle fundraiser.
   The 42 group will meet on Wednesday, December 14th at 1:30 PM at the Mason County Library Stribling Room. All are welcome!

   Friday Nights Continue    For most high schools, the lights of Friday night have now moved from the stadium to the gymnasium. Those schools have finished their football seasons and moved on to basketball. As predictable as the move from fall into winter, this change happens for most schools every year.    And then, there are those schools that are involved in the UIL football playoffs.
   The Legion Hall will be open from 1 til 3 PM on Wednesday, December 7 to memorialize those lost in the attack on Pearl Harbor Day, December 7th , 1941. “This day will go down in infamy” thus said FDR on that day. The Fort Mason Post will be open for any who wish to come by and remember with us, that fateful day in history.
