By the time you read this, the Punchers and Cowgirls will be competing in the first round of Regional play in Corpus Christi. The first round tees off early Wednesday morning and will conclude with the second round on Thursday. The Cowgirls finished in Seconded Place behind the San Saba Armadillo’s.
Wednesday was another beautiful golf day, and 22 players showed up to take advantage of it. The players were formed up into 5 teams and began play promptly at 5:30. At the end of the golf day, Jimmie Fore’s team of Richard, Hank, Penny and Margaret came roaring back to the club house with a score of 6 under par!
The multi-county wildlife tour held on April 7 at Mason Mountain Wildlife Management Area was a great success. Attendees, more than ninety, came from as far away as Caldwell to hear information on feral hogs, proscribed burns and a panel discussion by local ranchers. The event was sponsored by the Texas AgriLife Extension Service and offered CEU credit hours. Tickets are on sale now for the annual Younglife-Mason Chuckwagon Dinner & Dance. This year's event will be held at the beautiful Selah Springs Ranch on the San Saba River (and, only just over the Mason County line). Music will be provided by Lynn Massey & Band. Trying To Remember Everyone... The Spring Visitors' Guide made it out on the streets in last week's edition. The Hill Country Sheep and Goat Organization offers scholarships to graduating high school seniors and full time college students enrolled in an Agriculture-related degree program in a Texas College or University. The 3MC Texas Aggie Muster to be held in Mason on Thursday, April 21, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. Each year on San Jacinto Day, Aggies from Menard, Mason, McCulloch, and Concho Counties join to honor those who have passed on since the last Roll Call. (MASON, Texas) – This month, Capital Farm Credit (CFC) is returning $56.7 million in cash to its member customers in the form of patronage dividends. Of that $56.7 million, the Mason office paid out $1.7 million to local members. “Our patronage dividend program is what sets us apart from other lenders,” said Ben Novosad, CFC’s chief executive officer.
