Johnson City and Blanco Volunteer Fire departments, along with other departments responded to a large brush fire that at one point jumped the Pedernales River at the Low Ranch off Stubbs Road Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017.
Johnson City Volunteer Fire Department Chief Roy Burdett reported that brush being burned Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, at the Low Ranch off Stubbs Road was put out but additional burn piles were ignited on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017. “Thursday at noon they were still lighting piles and weren’t watching the weather forecast,” Chief Burdett said.
