Operation Merry Christmas Toy Run Rides into Town

More than 40 members of area chapters of the Sovereign Sons Motorcycle Club rode their bikes into town on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, morning to escort Santa Claus to the Gem of the Hills Community Center where he gave presents to 18 children from Blanco and Johnson City elementary schools. Local children, including Ali, pictured at right, was excited to receive and open one of her gifts from Santa.

Santa arrived in Blanco accompanied not by the pitter patter of reindeer hooves, but by the thunderous roar of more than 40 motorcycles from the Sovereign Sons MC on their annual Toy Run benefitting less fortunate children in Blanco County. A national Motorcycle Club founded and based in Blanco in 2009, the Sovereign Sons MC Blanco County Chapter worked with Blanco and Johnson City Elementary School counselors to select those children who could benefit the most.
