Jews Loved Genealogies: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Many folks call Matthew 1 the Forgotten Chapter. Matthew starts with the Patriarch Abraham and goes down to Joseph. Note it does not say Joseph the father of Jesus in verse 16. It reads, “…and Jacob, the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called the Christ.” Here is a long list of names starting with Abraham, on to David and ending with Jesus.
