Chili, Official Dish of Texas, Brings Competitors to Blanco
Chili is often referred to as a Mexican dish. However, Mexican culture denies connections with it. The earliest record of chili comes through legends of a nun in Spain named Sister Mary of Agreda in the 1600s. It is said she never left her convent, but she would have out-of-body experiences coming to the new world to teach the Native Americans about Jesus.
