It is said that everything has a beginning, and so it was for the administration of new Blanco County Judge Brett Bray, who presided over his first commissioners court meeting Tuesday, Jan. 13 at the courthouse in Johnson City.
Bray concentrated on procedures during the regular session as he moves forward.
"These meetings are pretty short, unless there is something substantial going on,"
When District 45 State Rep. Jason Isaac, R-Dripping Springs, sees Blanco State Park, it immediately transforms him back to when he was first elected.
"I always think about that river because it holds some of my fondest memories," Isaac recalled, mulling a morning cup of tea. "In 2011, in the first week after I was sworn in, Blanco residents like Connie Barron were coming to me and saying, 'hey, Blanco State Park is on this closure list.'"

Blanco Independent School District (BISD) called an election for May 9 during regular session on Monday, Jan. 12 in the high school library.
Places 3 and Place 4 are up for consideration during this election cycle. Kirk Felps and Darrel Wagner, the incumbents respectively, both said they would seek reelection.
The calling of the election coincided with School Board Appreciation Month.

Blanco Independent School District (BISD) celebrated the playoff run of the Blanco High School (BHS) Panther Football team with medals during a special session held in the cafetorium on Monday, Jan. 12.
In a highlight-filled season, the Panthers clawed their way to the state semi-final championship game where the team lost to Newton 48-21.
I encourage you to read Mark 11:12-14, 19-24. Verses 23-24 say "For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

I purchased two new bibles this past weekend, and as soon as we got home, both Lawrence and myself were pouring over our new bibles like kids with new toys.
