Baker's Guns does not offer drive-thru service, but apparently the thieves that sacked the business early Wednesday, Jan. 14, did not get the memo. Around 5:30 a.m., a stolen Ford F-250 was used to ram through the front of the building just one week after a huge bolder rolled from the back of a pickup truck failed to breach the double-paned window.
A Fredericksburg jury convicted Blanco resident Brandon Harber on Wednesday, Jan. 14, for tampering with physical evidence while disposing Trey Allen Noah's body in November of 2009. Noah, 20, died of a single gunshot wound on Nov. 30, 2009; his body was not discovered until April 18, 2010. The jury sentenced Harber, 24, after a short deliberation, to a 10-year probated sentence.
At a Public Hearing preceding the January meeting of the governing body of Blanco, Mayor Pro Tem Bobby McClung announced that the city has decided "to stop and start over" with the proposed annexation of properties in the city's extraterritorial jurisdiction. The city will meet with representatives from The Landing on Highway 281 North, which is a wildlife management area and therefore cannot be annexed.
Wild Woman Weekend, organized by the Blanco Non Profit Coalition, has opened an opportunity for a grant to be awarded to one additional non-profit organization serving the citizens of Blanco County, Texas.
