On Saturday April 11, Real Ale Brewing Company will invite loyal fans to celebrate the company's 19th year in craft beer with a party at its brewery in Blanco. This annual party runs from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and will feature over 50 beers from Real Ale, including a selection of Brewers' Cut, Mysterium Verum, and other cask-conditioned offerings.
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for the Highland Lakes Area is asking Blanco County residents to consider stepping up to the plate and helping protect local children at risk.
That's the message from Galyn Woerner, CASA's Advocate Coordinator, who said with the Blanco County Commissioners' Court proclaiming April as Child Abuse Prevention Month, that this was a perfect time for her to let area residents to understand that the need for advocates is pressing and growing with each passing ...
The annual "gal pal" extravaganza, "Wild Woman Weekend" returns to Blanco April 10-12. The lawn of the Blanco Courthouse will be the focal point of the annual event, featuring an array of artisan booths, which are designed to capture feminine preferences, according to Connie Barron, founder of the event.
Barron estimates the event will draw approximately 400 women.

It's official! Volunteers are now planning the first Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration at the Buggy Barn Museum in the Old West Town.
Lots of activities are being planned. You can entered the Pet or Bike Parade for a $2.00 entry fee, or plan to ride in the first ever 4th of July Wagon and Carriage Parade $3.00 per person.

Ask any farmer and they will tell you that rain is a tricky thing. Too much rain kills crops. Not enough rain does the same. The right amount of rain can also prove useless, if the rain doesn't fall at the critically needed time.

Later this month, the Blanco Performing Arts will host the San Antonio-based, world-renowned SOLI Chamber Ensemble as part of its 2014-15 season, which ends in June.
The musical quartet features clarinetist Stephanie Key, cellist David Mollenauer, violinist Ertan Torgul, and pianist Carolyn True. They will perform Sunday, April 26, at 3 p.m.
Martin A. Shade was called home on March 20, 2015 to be with his Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, as well as reuniting with so many of his loved ones.
Martin, the youngest and last survivor of 8 children, was born on February 2, 1932 in Kansas City, MO, to Arthur and Lena Ganzer Shade.
