During the September meeting of Blanco’s Planning and Zoning Commission, members continued to wrestle with zoning and street issues, as well as problems with the official map of Blanco.

The 24-year-old was hired earlier this summer to be the city’s marketing and events coordinator, and she began her duties on Sept. 1.
In a nutshell, she said her job responsibility is “to promote tourism in Blanco.”
“My objective is to bring awareness to the city,” she said.
Blanco State Park numbers swelled over the summer months this year and were so high on certain weekends that officials closed the gates as early as noon to prevent overcrowding.
According to statistics from park personnel, more than 53,400 people visited the park between Memorial Day and Labor Day in 2016, an increase of about 22.5 percent from 2014.
