To give it some “peace of mind,” the Blanco Independent School District Board of Education last month approved a $2.5 million line of credit with Blanco National Bank. The approval came in the form of a resolution.
The line of credit only will be used if needed throughout the year.
The resolution, adopted during the board’s October meeting, stated that it “provided favorable staff review of all documentation and TEA (Texas Education Association) related rules and regulations.”

For the second straight year, the Blanco High School girls cross country team punched a ticket to the Class 3A state championship meet after the Panthers captured top honors on Saturday at the Corpus Christi Regional.
Blanco accumulated 92 points with its top five runners to top the 24-team field. Runner-up Kingsfield Academy tallied 102 points.
“I am so proud of our girls and the effort they gave us,” coach Stuart Schultz said.
Voters in Blanco County will have slight variations on their ballots when they go to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. throughout the county’s six precincts.
“Voting turnout has been fairly high (in the past), but I have no idea what turnout will be on Election Day,” Blanco County Clerk Laura Walla said.
The headliner on the ballot will be the presidential election.
Clara S. Wittig was called home to be with our Lord on October 25, 2016 in Seguin, Texas at the age of 91. She was born in Llano, Texas on June 22, 1925.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Chester A. Wittig; parents, Rudolph and Lydia Schoerlemmer; sisters, Emilie Schoerlemmer, Emma Marie Schoerlemmer and Esther Schoerlemmer; brother, Reynold Schoerlemmer and daughter, Kathryn Williams.
