Hartman wanted his Eagle Scout project to honor Blanco’s first responders.

“Thanks for letting me play again,” exclaimed a visitor to Blanco on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017. She was taking part in the First Annual Blanco County Children’s Chalk Festival. The purpose of the event was some old-fashioned, family fun downtown.
Kids of all ages joined in to leave their mark on the sidewalks of Bindseil Park and around Blanco Town Square.

The Blanco Library is pleased to announce that the Tocker Foundation has awarded the library with funds to update shelving after last year’s renovation and expansion project to replace overly-tall and dilapidated shelving. Our 90-inch shelving will be replaced with 72-inch shelving and given modern updates like benches to break up the lengths, along with some slatted endcaps for displays.

d like to begin by reflecting on some of the many things for which I am thankful. I am grateful that we have such a dedicated staff to serve the students of the Blanco Independent School District. As I visit campuses, attend events, and participate in other district activities, I gain even greater respect for the Blanco ISD staff, and I am thankful for the hard work and dedication that is displayed daily in the interest of educating our youth.

Blanco High School sent 21 students to the Region 12 All-Region Band Auditions. Blanco had 12 band members place in the All-Region Band and 5 advanced to the Area Round .

Blanco Elementary Student Council collected over 650 food items for the Good Samaritan center throughout the month of November. The food drive kicked off late October for Red Ribbon week with the theme of, “You CAN be drug free!” Pictured top from left: Liza Struck, Jowie Walker and Patricia Mangold.
The Lady Panther basketball team opened their season with a 61-16 win over St. Anthony on Tuesday, Nov 14, 2017.
Kendall Brock paced the team with eight offensive rebounds and 11 defensive rebounds. Wiseman grabbed six offensive rebounds, Presley Young made five assists and Kora Brock tallied four blocks.
