The first weekend of April is booked solid in Llano with the 16th Annual Chuck Wagon Cook-Off and the 43rd Llano Fiddle Festival. On Friday morning, April 3, students from Llano Elementary, Packsaddle, and Llano Christian Academy will make their yearly trip to Badu Park to learn about life in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

The Old County Annex Barn sat waiting for a new purpose. This year work began on the barn to turn it into a Vendor’s Market. There are 22 booths. Nine have been filled and seven new vendors open in March and April. The owners wanted to create an environment for someone to come in and set up a small retail business with little up-front cost and an on-site cashier so you can still work at your day job while growing your small business.

The Schneider House at 532 Magazine Avenue is a single-family dwelling with two accessory structures located on the back of the property. The property is not an individual historic landmark but contributes to the Sophienburg Hill Historic District. The residence was originally built in 1910 by Edward F. Schneider (1861-1919) and Emma Maurer Schneider (1857-1935) adding to their considerable land holdings in the area.
