LBJ Student Council traveled to Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio on January 22nd to take items for the Soldier and Family Support Center. The first stop was Wal-Mart where students purchased fruit and other snacks for the wounded soldiers and their families. JCISD School Board February 9 Meeting Recap
By Debbie Burkhard The JCISD School Board met for its regularly scheduled meeting on Feb. 9, 2015 with all members present. Joe Summy spoke during Open Forum and stated that there should be some estimates on the cost of the new stadium now. Summy said final costs were not expected but there should be some estimate to provide to the public.
JCISD ranks tenth in the state for percentage of unvaccinated students
By Charles McClure A mere 15 years ago, it was thought that measles had been eradicated in the U.S. However, that all changed in December when a measles outbreak was traced back to the Disneyland amusement park in Southern California. Within days, 39 people had contracted measles, which is highly contagious for those not vaccinated.
