Officers from the US Marshall Service, Lone Star Task Force and Austin PD make entry to a room at Hill Country Inn where an Arizona fugitive was expected to be. The wanted man was not in the room.
On Tuesday, March 17, 2015 Johnson City Police Department was notified by the United States Marshall Service in reference to a wanted fugitive that was believed to be in Johnson City.
The wanted fugitive Michael David Bjornstad was wanted out of Maricopa County Arizona on ten counts of Sexual Exploitation of Minors.
It was believed that the fugitive was at the Hill Country Inn, room # 17.
Both the Johnson City and the Johnson City Independent School District (JCISD) have called an election for Saturday, May 9 and both entities will feature contested elections.
While the Blanco-Pedernales Groundwater Conservation District had two seats currently held by board vice-president Don Casey and secretary Rebecca Brown, the two open seats will be uncontested, so, in keeping with state law, that election has been cancelled.

Jeffrey Bous was arrested following an incident that took place in Round Mountain on March 12, according to Sgt. Ben Ablon of the Blanco County Sheriff's Department.
Ablon said Blanco Sheriff's received a call at about 10 p.m. that evening regarding a disturbance on Anderson Lane in Round Mountain.
"The caller reported that the suspect, who the caller knew, had set a fire and was now attempting to break into the caller's residence,"

Last weekend Blanco County 4H Junior Horse Judging Team and the Johnson City FFA Horse Judging Team did an amazing job at Houston Contest this year.
We are so proud to say they are representing Blanco Co! The FFA Team has all Seniors this year. Lily, Emily, and Brenna placed 3rd Team over all, Emily was 17th high individual and Lily was 6th high individual.
It's that time of year when the best chili on the planet comes to Johnson City. There will be some new twists this year to delight all those who attend. Here in Johnson City, at the Blanco County Fairgrounds along the banks of the Pedernales River, men from Texas and beyond will compete in one of the largest cook offs in the world, to become the Texas Men's State Chili Champion.
1968 was a wild time. Many young adults took to the road either on motorcycles or hitch hiking across the U.S. Andy Syninsky and Terry Mathews decided to ride their 10 speed bikes from California to New York City.
They had a wonderful adventure and at one point they visited Johnson City.
Blanco County Sheriff's Office reports that between March 9 and March 16, 2015 there were 96 calls for service, 33 traffic stop and 14 arrests. The Woman's Civic club met in the home of Barbara Counts March 2, 2015. Thirty one members braved the rain and fog to enjoy a wonderful presentation by the Johnson City Library Puppeteers. Performers were Caylee and Collin Corpus, Emma and Grace Burke, Ben, Joey and Bradley Garland, and Maggie Goodman, the narrator was Louise Patterson.

The art mecca of the Texas Hill Country, the Bunkhouse Gallery, will hold its 23rd art, jewelry and pottery exhibition and sale March 21-22, and again on March 28-29.
The event will be conducted from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on each day. An artists' reception will be held Saturday, March 21, from 2-6 p.m.
The annual event has become a Hill Country staple and will feature some of the best artists of the area including Dena Wonmohs and the "Bunkhouse Gang"
The Lady Eagles played the first game of district against Harper at home last Friday night. The Lady Eagles could not get the bats going, scoring only one run for the game. Emily Matjeka was on the mound for Lady Eagles. Harper hit the ball well scoring 5 runs in the game.
The Lady Eagles had several moments of good defense including two throw downs from catcher to third base but were not able to get the points on the board.

I wasn't quite eight years old when my maternal grandfather passed away. John H. Price was 82. He was found one cold fall morning slumped against a cedar fencepost with a pitchfork in his hand. As usual, he had gone out to tend to his dairy cows and failed to come in for breakfast.
After the funeral services, his descendants, including my mother, gathered at the old homestead to discuss the disposition of his property and meager possessions.

Listening is one of the greatest challenges we face. So many of the relationship problems we face could be solved if we would simply slow down and listen to each other.

The summer of 2011 was a special time in Johnson City. That June our high school baseball team won the state championship in Class 1A! It was a time of celebration.
The championship tee shirt stated "Small Town, Big Pride." Big pride indeed! It was fun to be proud of this accomplishment and to be from Johnson City.
