Blanco County Commissioners held a Special Meeting on Tuesday, July 24, 2018. July was declared First Responders Month. Commissioners also discussed a clean energy program for the county.

Traffic was delayed south of Johnson City on northbound HWY 281 until 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2018 due to a utility truck roll-over.
Lt. Woodring from Blanco County Sheriff’s Office reported the driver of the truck lost control while headed North on HWY 281. While trying to maintain the large truck, he over-corrected, and the vehicle went sideways and rolled over at approximately 4 p.m.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle and received non-life-threatening injuries.
When talking to Senor Cicero Alexander Rust III (better known as C.A.) about his career teaching, he will take you on a wonderful journey of many adventures, verbally painting pictures so that one can easily imagine every intricate detail, as though you were there with him.
Rust began his teaching career in Floresville, where he taught English from 1979-88.
“When I left Floresville, I didn’t think I could have a better teaching career,” Rust said.
The annual barbecue and fundraiser by Albert Community Club will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2017, at the Williams Creek School Building in Albert, Texas.

MY BEDTIME NIGHTMARE CAME TO PASS. I was sound asleep for about an hour and a half the other night when I felt something at my toes, so, I pushed it away with my feet. I tried to think of something else, like baseball, or imagine that it was a wrinkle in the sheet.
In 1957 a severe and extended drought held central Mexico in its unyielding grip. The animals were starving, crops were failing and farmers were forced to abandon their dusty fields and to head into the cities to find scarce work. Such were the conditions there when my father was called on a mission to build eight meetinghouses for his church in that country.
A plan was devised whereby young men who were unemployed would be called as building missionaries for two years.
Texas women voted for the first time on July 27, 1918, one hundred years ago. This was before ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment to our US Constitution on August 26, 1920 granting women the right to vote. July 27, 1918 was the date of the Democratic Primary in Texas and women voted.
The Texas Rangers Heritage Center in Fredericksburg honors the Texas Rangers daily with a 12-acre campus located on Hwy 290. On August 4, 2018, they will remember those who have served and honor those still commissioned with a two-part event. Texas Ranger Day & History Symposium will feature historians and educational programs, including Ranger camp set ups and cannon firing.

The female breast has been a battleground between motherhood and sexuality for too long. The perception of the world community that the United States does not enthusiastically support breastfeeding deserves a resounding rebuttal.
One outcome of this exhibition will be to normalize and depoliticize the female breast.
