The Lady Eagles hosted the Blanco County Tournament and showed that they can compete with the big schools in the surrounding area. They Lady Eagles went 2-2-1 in the tournament and tied for third.
The Lady Eagles opened up the tournament against Llano and picked up their first victory of the day.
The Johnson City Eagles traveled to Comfort Thursday night and competed against much larger schools and showed that they can run, jump and throw with anyone.
The Varsity Boys finished 5th out of ten teams. The JV Team also finished 5th.
Winning individual medals were Blake Caulkins 3rd in the 100 meter dash.
The 7th and 8th grade girls competed in the Comfort Ribbon Relays last Friday, March 4th. These ladies all compete as an 8th grade team and did very well in their first track meet of the year. The Blanco County elections started routinely and as the day progressed there were a few glitches. Precinct 2 did not order enough ballots to handle the large number of voters and the County Clerk, Laura Walla, had to print and deliver copies of ballots.
Early voting ballots were easily read by the ESS (Election Systems and Software) reader but around 8p.m., just as the Precincts were delivering their ballots, the equipment failed and could not read ballots.

The Johnson City Council met on Tuesday March 1, 2016 for their regularly scheduled meeting with Council members Shelton Coleman and Rhonda Stell absent.
The meeting began with the Planning and Zoning Commission public hearing and even though there was a packed house only two residents had questions. The questions were answered by viewing the large map that was on display; the residents needed clarity because they had been viewing the smaller map on the City’s website.
