The Llano County Commissioners Court on Monday agreed to a lease agreement with an energy company for school land in Tom Green County, but declined to release the contract or provide any detailed information.
The commissioners passed the agreement with a 4-0 vote after a closed session which lasted approximately one and a half hours.

Annie Verzwyvelt, a Llano native, has been named “Sailor of the month” for the U.S. Naval Hospital in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. She is 19 and attended Llano High School. She has been in the Navy for 10 months, and has been stationed in Guantanamo Bay for the last 4 months.
Robinson Park Lake will soon contain a lot less water.
The draining of the lake for the removal of sand and endangered mussels could begin as early as Monday or Tuesday of next week, City Manager Scott Edmonson told the city council on Monday night. It will be refilled by the time Crawfish Open starts in April, at the very latest.
In order to gain a permit to allow the lake to be drained for the sand removal, an environmental study was completed, which discovered endangered mussels.

SAN SABA—A win’s a win they say—whoever they are—and Llano picked up a pair in the Armadillos’ Girls’ Basketball Tournament, November 16-18.

Janet Lou (Rogers) Sharpe, 68, of Tow, passed away on Monday, Nov. 13, 2017. She was born to Jack C. Rogers and Helen Frances (Yedlosky) Rogers on June 7, 1949, in Morgantown, West Virginia.
Janet will forever be remembered for her love of family and innate ability to make the holidays special with her delicious cooking and baking.
Mary Louise Choate, 83, of Llano, passed away, Nov. 13, 2017. She was born to Kirby and Maurine (Burks) Harvey on Dec. 26, 1933 in College Port. Mary moved to Llano in 1993 and quickly made it her home. Mrs. Choate has been a faithful member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 56 years.
