You wonder if Oklahoma fans believe the Big 12 is a given, selection to the Final Four, ditto, so let’s just move quickly through a 13-game schedule and get to the dessert table?
Maybe that’s an exaggeration with hyperbole looking for a place to hide, but the Sooners have won four conference titles in a row and made it to the College Football Playoffs three times in four years—albeit losing all three CFP games, and they are 1-4 in bowl games the last half decade.

It’s not bragging when you claim to be a contender when: 1) You are coming off a 7-5 season with a playoff win, and 2) When you’ve got a bunch of talented young men ready to wear a school uniform on Friday nights.
“I think we have a chance to be a really good football team,” declared Head Coach Matt Green.

The NBA is considering reducing its schedule, which is now 82 games. It is also talking about some sort of mid-season, so-called-cup tournament. And, a change in the playoff qualifiers for the postseason.
Let’s jump right in. I have long favored the 82 be replaced by 75. That should keep players from taking nights off several times a year.

I suppose if anyone can take on a challenge, it’s Steve Golemon, Llano High’s cross country mentor. The runners of summer and autumn opened for business, July 29, without a bunch of last year’s talented athletes. Golemon, though, 75 before the season concludes, hasn’t graduated yet, and he returns for a 40th year as a head coach.

I was having a rather down day recently. You know how it is; you are going along 100 miles an hour and finally you crash. I was experiencing one of those reality crashes.
Reclining in my chair, drinking coffee, I thought of one of my old friends. Oh my, he has been gone for almost five years now.
Pollinators are high on the list this season. And for this gardener, it has been a high priority for building and growing a habitat for them. Here’s what we all can do to help our pollinators survive and thrive: As you plan your gardens, make sure there are many flowering plants that are blooming well into the fall.

When I was a youngster, I remember my Dad using an old window weight tied on a piece of rope to determine the depth below our little 12-foot wooden boat. He had the rope marked in 3-foot increments and simply lowered the weight overboard and counted down until the weight hit bottom.
