The Llano High School girls basketball team earned three wins at the Johnson City tournament Dec. 1-2. The Lady Jackets defeated South San Antonio West 35-20 Dec. 2 after beating them a day earlier 27-17 and The Woodlands Christian Academy 32-16.
One reason for the winning streak, head coach Jay Parker said, is because of how the ball handlers are attacking defenses“We handled the press a lot better than we have been,” he said.
What a week for the Llano High School boys basketball team. After coming within a couple of possessions to win in their first and second games of the season, the Yellow Jackets put it all together in a big road win at Wall.

Rose Lee Myers, a beacon of kindness and love, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2023, in Llano, at the age of 90. Born on June 26, 1933, in the quaint town of Castel, Rose was a lifelong resident of the area and a cherished member of her community. Rose, known affectionately by her friends and family, graduated from Llano High School and soon after dedicated over four decades of service as a secretary at the Llano City Police Department.
