The Llano High School boys basketball team enjoyed its best week of the season so far. The Yellow Jackets (8-4) are currently on a seven-game winning streak that includes being the Brady Tournament champions.
Llano beat Eldorado 44-26 in the championship Dec. 9 after stinging NVTO 61-34 in the semifinals and Grape Creek 54-35 both on Dec.
Parker noted the Lady Jackets showed improved patience on the offensive end and saw the defense’s open spots. “They seem to be getting better,” he said. “These girls haven’t had a breather. At times our patience was better. We didn’t force things. As a young team, you don’t want to force things.”
He noted the emphasis in practice has been to throw he 12-foot pass as opposed to the “skip pass the defense is baiting.””They’re starting to see it,” he said.
Robgained his angel wings on December 3, 2023. Robert was born on November 22, 2002, in Llano, Texas, to Robert Matthew Peck and Belinda Owens. He grew up in Llano where he attended school and spent his youth playing football and baseball. Robert learned how to play the drums and the guitar at an early age.
Donna Cecile Simpson Simonton, age 74, of Coleman, died Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at her residence with her loving family by her side. The family hosted a visitation from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 11, 2023, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman. A graveside funeral service followed at 2:00 p.m.
