On Friday, January 23, in the Llano High School Gymnasium, the Llano Yellow Jackets played host to the Lampasas Badgers in the opening of district play. While this was the objective of the evening, another story was playing out on the court with no fanfare, no announcements and well, just the way he would want it to be happening.

Student-made posters praising the Board members lined the wall of the community room for School Board Appreciation Night. Eighteen elementary school students sang to the Llano ISD school board members at the January meeting. The Singing Jackets offered "Kind and Generous" with the repeated chorus, "thank you for all you do."
Llano High School Student Council officers presented the Board members with a special Tee shirt, a hand-written thank you note, and a certificate.
The Llano Meats Team recently competed at the Western National 4-H Roundup in Denver, Colorado bringing home the title of Champion Team. The contest was held at the JBS and Pilgrim's Pride Headquarters in Greeley, Colorado. Team members include Julianna Ball, Kathryn Cunningham, David Forrister, and David Meier. The Llano High School Band competed at the UIL Region 7 Marching contest on October 18th and received their 36th consecutive 1st Division Superior Rating. This earned them a trip to the UIL Area D Marching contest held in Cedar Park this last Saturday, October 25th. Although the LHS Band put on their finest performance of the year it was not quite good enough for them to advance to the Area Finals.
