The score from Friday night's victory of the Mason Punchers over the Junction Eagles doesn't begin to tell the tale of what a hard-fought game it was. The Punchers took the opening kickoff and began a slow, steady drive down the field. It would take almost half of that first quarter before Seth Hudson was finally able to break out on a quarterback keep and dive seven yards across the goal line.
Portable Toilets
Hi Gerry, I have a suggestion that might solve the problem of portable toilets at the golf course being vandalized. Paint a Texas flag on the porta-johns. Better yet, paint the entire porta-john as a Texas flag. The Chamber could commission the art classes at the High School to paint and decorate them. Or the Chamber could have a Porta-Potty Paint-Off. Or businesses in town could requisition a porta-john to paint and decorate for a prize of some sort. I'm not guaranteeing this will work to keep ...

We had 15 golfers show up for the 10/14 Scramble, and they were formed up into four teams. We teed off promptly at 5:00pm, and by 7:00pm the teams began returning to the club house to post their scores. It appears that the skill balance between the teams was pretty closely matched, since 3 of the 4 teams carded a score of 4 under par.
No doubt you, like many Americans, have been asking yourself, all day, "What can I do to make the world a better place? Huh?" Well, one thing you can do, as a concerned, caring, feeling, touching, touchy-feely person is to watch your language. Never use swear words, or even say rude comments, especially when you're talking to, uh, livestock. According to a Daily Mail article which was copied and pasted and sent to me by an alert reader who shall remain unnamed, because it was Pat Wentworth, the ...
While I like to keep my articles light hearted and humorous, sometimes it's a sad time. This is a sad time for me, as my sister Jo Jo passed away. While I knew the time was close, it hit with just as hard a punch. I didn't want Jo Jo to have to linger and suffer anymore, there was that hope in my heart that she'd pull through. I referred to Jo Jo, as the Timex watch.
Celiac disease is a problem some people have with foods that contain gluten. Gluten is a type of protein. It's found in the grains wheat, barley, rye, and triticale (a wheat-rye cross). When you have this disease and you eat food with gluten in it, the gluten triggers an immune response that is not normal.
The fall weather seems to be trying to show up with cooler mornings, but by the afternoons it still feels more like summer with temperatures near 90 or above. We are expecting a good chance for rain later in the week, but I could have predicted that several weeks ago when we set this weekend as the free dump time.
Column #648 for Release Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, or Later The old expression "can't know a player without a program" still has traction, but particularly at this time of year, the same is true of coaches. Few would join picket lines opposing college presidents announcing "votes of confidence" for coaches soon to be sent packing.
