We thought now would be a great time to provide some updates and ensure that correct information was being disseminated. The construction is still on track to be completed by early to mid-summer.

Spring Is Bustin' Out All Over... The Rodgers & Hammerstein classic musical, Carousel, has one of my favorite Broadway songs. The residents of the little New England town featured in the play have finally welcomed the warmer days of summer, and they burst into a dancing and singing frenzy, proclaiming, "June is bustin' out all over...." They lament how April had seemed to be the end of winter; but, never quite made it.
There is a growing trend in the pet industry for pet sitters to care for pets in the comfort of their familiar environment—their own home! Pet owners (pet parents) are looking for trustworthy care and peace of mine for their pets when they are away from home. Pet sitter organizations today are nationwide and international.
Gerry, The times I’ve written letters to the editor can be counted on one hand with fingers left over. After reading the March 14 issue, I felt compelled to write regarding Jane Zesch’s final column & your column. I was moved by both. Having two to three hundred funeral/memorial services in my pastoral career, I encouraged people to do what you suggested & what Jane did.
Integrity Some scholars think that mankind invented language for the purposes of deception. They believe that a persons true nature and intentions can be revealed solely by their actions, no words needed. There have been lots and lots of words flying around lately pertaining to the upcoming elections in the city of Mason.
No Knead Cinnamon/Raisin/Pecan Bread As those of you who regularly read this column know, 95% of the recipes I share with you are recipes that I’ve collected (borrowed/stolen?) over the years from friends, relatives, cook books and the internet. I always try to give credit to the person or organization that supplied me with the recipe.

Who’s counting? How many have to die each year before something is done? Evidently that number is somewhere between 140,000 and 328,000. Birds. No one really knows for sure how many avian deaths are the direct result of wind turbines, because people lie. That may come as a shock, I realize, but if everyone told the truth you wouldn’t need me.
Tomorrows and Yesterdays… In his 40-year career as a National Weather Service meteorologist, he spent most of his time predicting the near future. As a retiree, he’s studying “the far back,” immersed now in learning of a much-ballyhooed highway a century ago. Genesis of the latter of Fort Worth’s Dan Smith began with a bike ride on abandoned pavement between Aledo and Weatherford, and discovery of an old “Bankhead Highway” street sign. His head swimming with questions, Smi ...

Diamonds and daisies. Diamonds and daisies. They kinda go together. Especially in April. Diamonds are a girl’s best friend. They are also the official gem for April. Look for some at The Thing Is. Beautiful jewelry abounds. According to one source, diamonds stand for love and affection. Long, long ago, women wore diamonds to ensure longevity. And protect against mental illness. HRM the Queen must sport a hefty one. Her longevity has thus proven itself. As has her m ...
