Please Stop - My Head Hurts! Politics, at almost any level, is fraught with disagreements and differing points of view. Even people who work at the same job, attend the same church and vote in the same primary often find themselves disagreeing heatedly when they discuss political matters. As we've seen during the last two decades, the political divide continues growing.
No Lies Letter to the Editor Sue Pledger is a big asset to our city. She researches & looks into most all the items that is put before the city commission. She did not cost the city any money, as stated by the one man. She also didn't say she didn't want any Gov.
Respect Editor: It is very refreshing to see people honoring the USA by placing their hand over their heart as the National Anthem/Pledge of Allegiance is observed. The photo of the Mason Cowgirls and coaches on the front page (Wed. March 7, 2018) is a testament of Mason, TX. CONGRATULATIONS! Paula Fehrenbach
Facts Letter to the Editor Sound judgment and decisions are based upon credible facts. Sue Pledger’s judgment has been maligned by her opponent, Mr. Kidwell, as having rejected “advice from experts.” That is an opinion and not based on facts. As an attorney, Sue has scrupulously investigated, researched, and consulted with legal and business experts on issues throughout her term, bringing facts to the table with fellow city commissioners. Regarding FEMA, Sue was rudely accused of ...
Commissioner Dear Gerry: I am writing to show my support for commissioner Sue Pledger who in my opinion is a careful, conservative, & dedicated commissioner who does her research & represents the citizens of Mason very well. I attended the meeting where Sue voted with the majority of the commissioners who rejected their earlier decision to file the City’s disaster plan with FEMA after hearing from those in attendance & much discussion.

There was toilet paper strung out everywhere ,some still in rolls, some unwound with the wind, all over the highway from just east of Mason all the way to Castel turn off with a few bits and dabs onwards toward Llano.

That sinking feeling Ted Danson is probably most well-known for playing the character of Sam Malone on the 1980s sitcom, ‘Cheers.’ Sam was an ex-baseball player who owned a bar in Boston. He eventually sold the bar and bought a sailboat, in which he intended to sail to Bora Bora, or someplace.
Easter Upon Us… It’s a heart-shaped grave marker in the May, TX, cemetery for a not-quite 15 year-old girl who fought the good fight. On one side are Jesus’ words from the Book of John: “I am the resurrection and the life…whoever believes in Me shall never die.” On the other side are engravings of a dog and panda bear. Those closest to Katherine Marie Hester during her short life--one darkened by health complications beginning at birth--understood love’s depth for her Lord, ...
Ham and Hash Brown Bake Looking for something different, I always think of Ham or baked chicken around Easter. You could probably even serve this for breakfast or brunch. You can also substitute the cornflakes with crushed potato chips or croutons and you can use plain yogurt instead of Greek yogurt. 1 (8 oz.) sour cream 1 (5.3 oz.) container plain non-fat Greek yogurt 1 (10.7 oz) can cream of celery soup ¼ cup chopped onion 1 (32 oz.) pkg.

M is for March. A month marching right along. M is for MASONBURGER. A new eatery on the square. M is for muddy roads. Meaning it rained. Yippee-ai-ay. M is for mockingbird. Have you heard? You can’t mistake it. The bird has an impressive repertoire. Thus living up to it name. M is for Mason. M is the thirteenth letter of the English alphabet. From the Greek mu. Derived ultimately from the Phoenician. So says trusty Webster. A capital M is a Roman numeral. ...
