It was good to have a number of days without any schedule, the peace to enjoy the changing colors of fall foliage and the biggest stress was deciding what to have for the next meal.

Marking Milestones....
In the time that I've been at the Mason County News, I've celebrated two major milestones in my life. Twenty years ago, I celebrated turning 40 years old. Ten years later, I was roasted and feted when I turned 50 years old. This Sunday, I will reach another milestone birthday as I turn 60 years old.
In our modern world, it's unusual to stay in the same job for any substantial length of time.
Remember
The 2020 Presidential election is looming and will be upon us before you know it. I would like to express some things for people to thoughtfully and prayerfully consider.
There are two things about this country that are unique in the world and very beautiful.
#1- The People are the owners of their government and are its sovereigns.
Oppie and the Opry

One of my earliest memories of my Grandmother Birk was her sitting in her rocker in the ranch house, crocheting while listening to the music of Roy Acuff ...

Lives Starting Out and Finishing Up…
At neither occasion is humor expected, but when it’s an added bonus, the comments eliciting laughter are the ones most remembered.
Current examples were separated by some 50 miles and 74 years.
Both were in churches--at a memorial service in Farmers Branch and at a parent-child dedication in Burleson….

There were many smiles--and some outright belly laughs--at the memorial service for Louis Stone, 78.
Easy Chicken Milanese
We are going way south of the border with this week’s recipe. The Milanese (in Italian “cotoletta alla Milanese”) is a dish common in South America countries. The Milanesa was brought to South America from Italian immigrants between 1860 and the 1920s. This dish is also similar to the Austrian Wiener Schnitzel.
The Milanesa is where generic types of breaded meat fillet (beef, chicken or veal) are dipped into beaten eggs, salt and other condiments, according to ...
