   Travis and Leigh Hyatt moved to Mason from the Austin area 11 years ago with their children, in hope of living in a small tight-knit community that values God, country and family.    Leigh is a stay at home mom and enjoys baking yummy things. She has turned her love of baking into a small business.
   Buddy's Animal Rescue will be selling Krispy Kreme Donuts Friday, November 4th from 8 a.m. until sold out. We will be set up in front of Dollar General, Mason Short Stop, Mason Bank, and Fredonia Peanut. If you have pre-ordered donuts they will be available for pick up at Mason Bank.    Your generous donation of $10/dozen will help support our Snip/Snip Scholarship Program which offers assistance to low income families with the spay/neuter of their pets.
   Mason County Cancer Benefit “MCCB” is a local non-profit organization. The MCCB committee will be hosting a bake sale to help with expenses for individuals fighting their battle with cancer.    We will be located beside Lonestar 102.5 KHLB Radio Station on Friday, November 4th beginning at 8:00 a.m. until sold out.
   This was another busy week at Art and surrounding places. The Art United Methodist Church had a very successful cleaning on Saturday. Everyone picked a job and got busy. It looks great. And, this is the great week when Daylight Savings Time ENDS.    Next Sunday at the Art United Methodist Church, our District Superintendent Steve Purdy will preach and will conduct our charge conference.
   The Mason Study Club will host a lunch event featuring Texas author Rosa Walston Latimer on October 26, 2016, 11:30 a.m. at the Mason County Library. The author will discuss Harvey Houses of Texas: Historic Hospitality from the Gulf Coast to the Panhandle, the first book in her Harvey House series published by The History Press.
   St. Joseph’s parishioners invite you to mark your calendars for the first Sunday in November (Nov. 6TH); this year’s date for their Annual Mexican Dinner.    Serving will begin at 11 AM in the Mason ISD Cafeteria on College Street. As usual, you may “Eat In” or request “Take Out”.    Each plate is $10.00 and the meal consists of enchiladas, beans, rice, salad, tea and a dessert.
    Furniture artists from across Texas have submitted their entries for this year’s Texas Furniture Makers Show, and the jury is in! Cindy Goldman and Spider Johnson, residents of Mason, are two of the top Texas furniture makers selected for this year’s show.     The Mason Band Boosters would like to request the honor of your attendance at the 59th Annual Queen’s Coronation. It will be held on Saturday, November 5th at the Fort Mason Park Community Building. The doors will open at 7:00 and the event will start at 7:30 p.m.
