Blanco Good Samaritan Center is ready to renovate. With the Emergency Services District No. 2’s move to a new building on Blanco Avenue, the Center will begin transforming that organization’s former quarters on Chandler into its new home. The move will reduce overcrowding and allow for expanded services.
Work will begin July 8 with an all-volunteer group under the able direction of Mike Rieken.

Ray Arthur Dirlam, 89, of Blanco passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019, at the Wesleyan Nursing Home in Georgetown, Texas.
Ray was born on August 21, 1929, in Johnson City, New York. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ona and Clarence Dirlam, his son Thom, his twin brother Roy, and his sisters Betty and Dorothy.
Ray is survived by his wife of 38 years, Anne Cowart Dirlam of Blanco and her two sons John Paul and Joel, his daughters Kathleen and husband John, Linda and husband Rodger, ...
Lucile Edna Moore, 95, daughter of Peter and Rosa Schmidt, born and raised in Blanco, Tx, died June 28, 2019 in Austin, Tx.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Floyd (Dinty) Moore, her brother Vernon Schmidt, and is survived by two sons, Kerry Moore and wife Jan, and Daryl Moore, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was buried in the Blanco Cemetery.
