The city park on Nugent Ave. is ready for summer with the pool open for the season along with freshly painted pickleball courts and new playground equipment.
“We were swamped Friday,” said Kristi Monkhouse, Johnson City Pool Manager about the pool’s opening day,
Friday June 1.
In the years she’s been Pool Manager for Johnson City, she’s noticed the pool stays busy through the month of June and slowing down in July and August when temperatures start to hit their peak.
As we head into the heat of summer, we can take comfort in the knowledge that all those hot, sunny days also bring forth everyone’s favorite summer vegetable – homegrown tomatoes! Whether tossed in a salad, sliced on a bun, or eaten on their own, tomatoes are nature’s reward for surviving the heat of June and July.
The Dripping Springs Farmers Market celebrates this year’s bumper crop of tomatoes on June 20th and 27th with Tomato Time!
June 2018 will kick off the summer pool season here at Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site.
Our June hours of operation will be 12pm-8pm on Wednesdays through Sunday. Mondays and Tuesdays the pool will be closed all day.
Our 2018 fees are as follows: Adults $3.00 and Children under the age of 13 $2.00.
