On April 1, 2016, the Friends of the Mason Library will hold their Annual Book and Bake Sale. Members of the Friends of the Library can browse and buy from 2:00 to 6:00 on Friday, April 1. On Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 8:00 – 4:00 everyone is invited to come and purchase some gently used books, movies and CDs and as well as some delicious homemade baked goods. On April 2, 2016, you can also pick up plants for your spring garden on sale in the Library parking lot by the Mason Garden Club.
Mason County Library will host Nonnie’s Kitchen on Friday, February, 26, 2016 from 12 noon to 1:30 in the Stribling room. This hands on cooking class will cover Southern Funeral Food. Pimento cheese is a staple in the southern diet so just imagine biting into a pimento cheese fritter (fried ball of cheese) then top it with hot pepper jelly?
Musician and singer Lauren Pelon will perform at 7:00 P.M. in the Stribling Room of the Mason Co. M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library tomorrow night, Feb. 25th. Ms. Pelon will present “Music from Backyard & Front Porch,” and she will perform on approximately twenty ancient and modern wind, string and free-reed instruments, and voice.
All interested local charities and organizations must fill out an application for distribution of funds from the 2015 Lions 5K/10K event. Application forms are available at all 3 Mason Banks. The deadline is March 1st.
The 26th of February marks the start of Operation Desert Storm. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8554 Mason will hold a remembrance of this event in our history. We invite all interested parties to attend on the 1st of March at 1:30 p.m. at the Post on Post Hill St. Questions about VFW post 8554 may be directed to Lawrence Spell, Post Commander, at 325 429 6224.
AUSTIN, TX – Austin-area artist Sabine Zimmer will be featured at the 2016 People’s Gallery exhibition, an annual, year long visual art exhibition at Austin City Hall. The People’s Gallery is a program of the City of Austin Economic Development Department/Cultural Arts Division. Now in its 12th year, the People’s Gallery is designed to showcase regional artistic endeavors and to encourage public dialog, understanding, and enjoyment of visual art.
Wednesday, February 10 at 6:30, THE ODEON THEATER will be offering a free film about mature love as part of the ongoing community enrichment series of free documentary films. There is no charge for the film. The film THE AGE OF LOVE, shows us that love is a vital energy needed by all humans and the search for love knows know age.
FRITZ 4 Month Old Male Border Collie/Shepherd There is nothing that can compare to puppy kisses!!! Fritz is one of Second Chance’s most recent rescues. He is a sweet and playful puppy that is looking for his forever home. Fritz would love to be part of an active family where he will be given plenty of love and attention.
Stop by the Gallery on Friday, February 12 from 7pm-10pm, listen to soothing, smooth jazz acoustics provided by Dale West. Indulge in sweet and tempting homemade desserts, as well as wine and ice cold beer, all in the visually beautiful setting of art works at the Llano Art Guild. Tickets are $10 each and you do not need to bring a Valentine as singles are welcome and encouraged.
Tuesday, February 9, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. - 7 p.m. The Annual Pancake & Sausage Supper hosted by the U.M.W. (United Methodist Women) will be held at the United Methodist Church, 800 Wright Street, Llano. Everyone is invited. Donations are accepted and will be used for mission work by the women.
