Just over a year ago, Deputy Bucky Boswell of the Llano County Sheriff’s Office used a Stop Stick device to stop a driver running from law enforcement at high speeds. He was rewarded for that efficient and safe stop last Wednesday. Rick Cundieff, the pastor of First Baptist Church Llano for nearly 28 years, preached his last sermon at the church Sunday morning. Cundieff, who came to Llano in August 1989, announced his retirement to the congregation two weeks ago. He and his wife, Jackie, will move to Robinson, just outside Waco.

Water and wastewater costs will soon increase for most residents in the City of Llano.The city council voted Monday to increase tiers for both water and wastewater departments for customers who use more than the base amount. This will impact about 60 percent of the city’s customers, said director of finance Lynda Kuder.
The base amount for water is under 3,000 gallons and there will be no change in cost for those who use that amount.
