Wildflowers and native grasses are a very big subject that literally has books written on them, so why tackle such a large subject? Well, they are so abundant this spring, how can you not wonder about them? As I do with most big subjects, I take small nibbles and just look at a few.

This year’s Llano County Beef & Range Field Day is set for Tuesday, May 28.
Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the John L. Kuykendall Arena & Events Center, located at 2200 Ranch Road 152, about 1.7 miles west of Llano. The program will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. and there is no charge to the participant.
The Lake Buchanan Conservation Corporation (LBCC) recently donated and installed a movable dock to the HARTH Foundation (Healing and Rehabilitation Through Horses). HARTH is located on the northeast shoreline of Lake Buchanan in the Council Creek area. The dock will benefit HARTH by making their beautiful shoreline area more useful to their clients.
On Saturday, April 27, Burnet County 4-H Rifle Club triumphs in District competition and broke an intermediate team record and junior individual record. Of the 15 first-place buckles awarded, Burnet County 4-H took home 10.
