Save the Date! Sunday, April 8th please join us for an outdoor dinner with live music at the beautiful Alamo Resort and Dancehall! Appetizers will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by a delicious meal of wood grilled pork tenderloin topped with fresh chimichurri sauce, Argentine rice, roasted asparagus with mushrooms, and herb and caramelized onion bread.
Mason’s Scarlet Punchers, those intrepid women “of a certain age,” who absolutely insist on enjoying life to the fullest, “shared the love” during our Valentines’ fete at the home of Lenore Newsom. By “sharing the love,” I mean that the potluck luncheon was the perfect combination of 9 desserts and 3 entrees, since to us Scarlet Punchers, love equals chocolate.
Riata held their membership meeting on Tuesday, February 22nd at the beautiful historic home of Nan Larrimore. Hostesses were Carol Dyal and Pam Scott. Vice President, Doris Courtright welcomed Gerald Gamel to the meeting; who gave a very informative talk on the history of the Mason County News. The Mason County Republican Women will hold their bimonthly luncheon on Wednesday March 21, 2018, at 11:30 am in the Stribling Room at the Mason Library. Members and guests will gather at 11:30 am for meet and greet with the luncheon starting promptly at noon. Our distinguished speaker will be Tonya Speath Ahlschwede.

The Texas Writes Program will be at the Mason County M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library in Mason, TX to present a program on Saturday, March 17, 2018. This event is free and open to the public and refreshments will be served. Starting at 10:00 a.m., attendees will hear from author Amy Gentry on how to use your character’s motivations to build a suspenseful plot.
The annual Baook and Bake Sale is the primary fundraiser for the Friends of the Library. We need your book donations as soon as possible. Book donations can be dropped off at the Library during working hours. If you have books to donate, please pack them in cardboard boxes. Use separate boxes for fiction and nonfiction, if possible.
