The Llano County Historical Museum, 310 Bessemer, Llano Texas is currently exhibiting “Lone Star and Eagle: German Immigration to Texas,” an exhibition by Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
In the 1840s, German immigrants began settling at New Braunfels, Fredericksburg, Sisterdale, and other hill country locations, imparting a distinctive character to these communities.

High school students in the Central Texas Electric Cooperative service area can now submit an essay to be one of three winners for the 2017 Government-in-Action Youth Tour, an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., June 7–16.

The City of Mason will be holding a City Election, Saturday, May 6, 2017. City positions up for election this year are: City Commissioner District 2 and City Commissioner District 4. Residents of the City of Mason who desire to place their name on the ballot for one of these positions may do so beginning Wednesday January 18, 2017 until Friday February 17, 2017.
