Just a note to remind all of you that the Patriot Warrior Foundation Big Hunt is happening this weekend. We’ll start off as usual with the sirloin and sausage lunch at noon on Friday, January 6. We hope as many as you can, will come eat with us and socialize with our wounded and paralyzed Veterans.
We expect to host between forty and fifty Veterans this year, and are thanking all of our host ranches in advance.
Ripped hems, missing buttons—little things that ruin the appearance of a garment—can be easily fixed with a little “know-how.” The Mason Co. M. Beven Eckert Library is sponsoring a free class on easy repairs, both with or without using a sewing machine. Patrice Searsy will teach the class on Tuesday, January 17th, from 10:00-12:00 noon, in the Stribling Room of the library, located at 410 Post Hill Street.
The City facilities will be closed Monday, January 2, 2017, for the New Year.
If your trash pickup is Monday, January 2nd, it will be picked up Tuesday January 3rd instead.

The Odeon theater starts the year off with a Texas favorite. Walt Wilkins and the Mystiqueros take the stage Saturday January 14 at 7:00PM.
Walt and company have toured the U.S. and beyond but regularly tour all over Texas...Fort Worth, Fredericksburg, Luckenbach, New Braunfels, San Angelo and Austin where they often perform at The Saxon Pub.
Walt’s spiritual journey as a musician began in Texas at age 8.
The Heart of Texas New Years Celebration will be held on Friday, December 30 and Saturday, December 31, at the Heart of Texas Events Center in Brady. Tickets for the dances are now on sale at www.heartoftexascountry.com or by calling (325) 597-1895. It is sponsored by the Heart of Texas Country Music Museum.
On Friday, December 30, Johnny Bush and Justin Trevino will headline the dance.
Johnny Bush began his musical career in Houston.
The Central Texas Electric Cooperative branch office in Mason will soon move to their new location at 1881 East State Highway 29. The current office, located at 983 North US Highway 87, will be closed on December 28th in order to relocate. Business will resume as usual on the 29th at the new Highway 29 location.
The recently constructed building will offer a drive thru for payments, handicap accessibility and a conference room to discuss account issues more privately.
